The Accommodation
Maison du Cherou is furnished to a high standard as a home rather than a holiday cottage. The house has a good sized lounge, separate dining room and 3 large double bedrooms, one on the ground floor and two on the first floor. Both first floor bedrooms are with en suite bathrooms and the downstairs bedroom is next door to the downstairs bathroom. The kitchen is fully fitted to a modern standard and the whole house is very comfortably furnished and besides being centrally heated has electric heaters in all rooms.  And for the warm nights, there are vertical air cooling fans in all bedrooms. You will want for nothing during your stay.

The lounge is a large family room with a beamed ceiling and large windows with lovely rear views and is equipped with adequate seating for six people in comfort and has a TV receiving a selection of UK and Sky channels and a DVD and video player. Throughout the house you will find a large selection of books, videos, DVDs and board games.
The dining room has a wood burning fire and is comfortably furnished with a tiled floor with central rug and a dining table to seat six people. Double French style doors open onto the decking area and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. From the dining room, large glass panelled doors open into the lounge area.

The ground floor bedroom is a large double bedroom with a beamed ceiling and views to the rear garden. It has a tiled floor and a double glazed door to the front garden. The room is light and airy and pleasantly cool even on the warmest nights. It is furnished with a double bed, double wardrobe, chairs and a small dressing table. The ground floor shower room is accessed through a central hallway which houses the staircase access to the first floor, and is equipped with a washing machine and a tumble drier, toilet, wash basin and shower with tiled walls and floor and beamed ceiling.

First floor bedroom 1 is accessed from the first floor lounge/family area and has a lucarne door/window to the front and a double Velux window to the rear with lovely views over open countryside. It is furnished with a double bed, bedside tables, double wardrobe, dressing table and chairs and a DVD with wall mounted viewing screen. It has a recessed lounge area to the front with a table and two chairs, just right for that early morning cup of tea. The ceiling is a fully beamed open A frame area and the flooring is laminate wood effect.  The en suite bathroom has a toilet, Jacuzzi bath, shower cubicle and double sink unit with fully mirrored vanity unit with ample storage and a hairdryer. The floor and walls are fully tiled.
Rising three steps from the other side of the first floor lounge/family area is the other first floor bedroom with laminate flooring and A framed fully open beamed apex ceiling. This double en suite bedroom has lovely views through the rear Velux window has a laminate wood effect floor, double bed, bedside tables and chairs, a chest of drawers and a hanging rail. There is a lounge area separated by a central beam with two step stairs to the bedroom area. This area is furnished with a table and two chairs suitable for that first of the day cup of tea with views to the front garden through a lucarne style door/window. The en suite bathroom is equipped with a shower unit, a toilet and a single vanity unit. The floors and the walls are fully tiled. All bedrooms are equipped with hairdryers

 
The kitchen at Maison du Cherou has an original bread oven. It has a beamed ceiling, tiled floor and tiled work surfaces and plenty of storage space. It is fully equipped with a full range of cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery. There is a gas cooker with an oven and four hobs and a microwave and mini oven for quick meals. It also has a fridge/freezer, second fridge for drinks, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, and sandwich maker, everything you would need for comfortable family meals. A washing machine and tumble drier are to be found in the downstairs bathroom.
 
The large garden extends to 3/4 of an acre and is mostly grass with trees, bushes and shrubs. There is  ample, secure parking on the grass to the front. It has a large gravelled patio extending under a clematis and wisteria arch. The patio is screened to one side with jasmine, honeysuckle and grape vines. It is furnished with a barbeque, wooden table and 8 chairs and can be lit for long summer evenings out of doors. The 26sq metre raised decking area, on the east side of the house is accessed directly through the double French doors in the dining room and gets the sun until mid afternoon. Equipped with easy chairs, sun loungers and a dining table with 6 chairs. This area also has lighting for late evening use.

 

Guests can cool off after a day exploring the region by using the above ground pool. There are also two steamer loungers, four plastic loungers and a plastic garden table and eight chairs. There are other seating areas around the garden including one under our lovely shady walnut tree. You will find a good selection of outdoor games in the garage, also a limited range of fishing equipment as there are several fishing lakes nearby.
